Portugal has a funny way of calling people back. For Sharon and Martin, this coast was already a deeply special place. Because of that connection, Martin knew exactly where he wanted to ask the question—he just needed a perfect spring afternoon and a massive cliffside backdrop to bring it all together.

The View from the Edge

We started at the iconic viewpoint of Azenhas do Mar, looking down over the village, the natural ocean pool, and the beach. Sharon had absolutely no idea what was coming. When Martin dropped to one knee, the surprise quickly turned into pure happiness. They were completely over the moon, making it effortless to capture those raw, spontaneous reactions.

Wandering the Village

After the initial rush, we headed into the narrow streets. Azenhas do Mar is full of beautiful, traditional white houses framed by dramatic cliffs. There was no stiff, forced posing here. We just walked, laughed, and caught candid moments around the quiet streets with the rugged coastline framing them from behind.

A Classic Spring Sunset

We finished the session exactly where we were supposed to: right on the beach. Spring on the Portuguese west coast brings a specific kind of light—crisp air and a heavy golden sunset that bleeds across the horizon. As the sun dipped below the water, they stood on the sand, totally soaked in the moment.
